Are You Now Okay?
04:00
|
|||
Have I lost my mind?
It’s becoming clear that I have got these gears to grind…
It’s nuclear but the real explosion’s deep inside
I’m caving-in, but at the same time feel alive
I can remember a time…
When you did not fear me
Or what might be on my mind
The eggshells didn’t crack beneath your feet,
You didn’t find it hard to breathe
You wanted to be with me, didn’t you?
Didn’t you?
Have I lost my mind?
Are you now okay?
Are the feelings numb or have they simply gone away?
She looked down
A tear escaped her eye
…the sound it made when it hit her thigh
Is buried in my mind…I hear it all the time
When we’re both asleep
I like to think we’re still connected and complete
I think in dreams that we can be happy
And only when we wake do we
Remember what we need
What’s really real to me?
Endless tortured screams
I can twist and turn but I can’t shake you from my dreams
I will never learn it seems.
I’m incomplete.
I’ve got no root directory
And you cannot find me
No, you cannot find me

Where The Truth Is Now
02:13
|
|||
Where do I find out where the truth is now?
Trying to stop the world for just a minute or two
To try and take the pressure off the madness, avoid the daily news
And all the headline psychotherapy that tries to change my views
In my cocoon of information all is lost or just confused
Where do I find out where the truth is now?
If I can close my mind I won’t hear what you have to say
If I can filter out the bullshit misfit truths another day then I could
Change my misdirection I could probably be sane but would you
Even recognize me if I started to explain about how
Herd mentality’s devouring our humanity and how we
Switched our common values with tremendous vanity and we have
Lost that core connection holding you and holding me and we are
Drifting through our lives just like there ain’t no gravity

Change your views
What would it take to break this news to you?
Oh how the mystery unravels
Yet it still won’t reveal the truth
But we see through
The calculated lies designed for youth
To salivate the dogs you’re asking for
To lick upon your boots
Ah-ah...oh well...
Falling down
We’re hopeless and we stagger in the dark
While the rich they all get richer and the minions hit their marks
These steel machines
Precisely cut and fully grinding to a halt
Rusted their ambitions
And immobile in their thoughts
Ah-ah...oh well...
Our mistake has been to think that we were safe in what we knew
Someone to watch over your pocketbook and leave some coins for you
And all this time
That we have had to spend digesting lies
Something is stuck inside the system
But what’s worse it claimed our minds
Ah-ah...oh well...

I follow the stars like I would follow you home
With my bindle and sack as I wander the road
Not enough to hold on, but enough to let go
I’m still clutching the note that’s still crushing my soul
Don’t forget
The past is like cement
The tears will make it wet
Remember what they said when they told you
She’s not coming back like you wanted
Pinebox, hearse and haunted...locked away
I can remember the mist, I can remember the cold
I can remember the dirt where they lowered the bones
I can remember the people and the time spent alone
In a crowd full of questions and answers unknown
Don’t forget
The past is like cement
The tears will make it wet
Remember what they said when they told you
She’s not coming back like you wanted
Pinebox, hearse and haunted...locked away

The clock on the counter is staring back at me and
It’s reminding me of places that I guess I need to be
Will it be fine if I am late today?
I can’t get out of bed
But I’ll be okay
I’ll just take it a day at a time
I’ll just take it a day at a time
Cause in between those tired days and sleepless nights
I wonder what it was about this year that got so out of hand
And let our love just disappear from both us
I’m dying without you here
I’m dying without you here
I’m dying without you
It’s not as simple as
Just putting our stuff in the trash
Or somehow moving on
To something else that wouldn’t last
I miss the way you looked at me when we were at the beginning
But day by day I realized that that was what was missing now

The Target's In The Aim
04:07
|
|||
When it’s all okay…
I will climb out of my shadows once again
I will say all of what I feel we need to say
I will not be afraid to go right up against the grain
Or the way the wind may blow
When it’s all okay…
When I’m convinced that everything I know has changed
It all depends on our perspectives rearranged
These aren’t mistakes you see, the target’s in the aim
And we all stand in line
We all stand in line

Exploding in an ocean
A wave of humanity
I see YOU
And hauntingly you cling to sanity
This notion that dreams could somehow be within our reach
This orange motherfucker, he’s been beating his chest
While the rest of us choked on the things that he said
We were left with one choice and one voice not yet dead
Holding onto ideals and trying not to invest
In the rest of the bullshit from your inbox & out
In the rest of your rhetorical guessing aloud
In the hopes that you’ll figure it out
Will you figure it out?
The establishment crushed all the momentum he had
Effectively blocking every route, and every path
Still the rest of us rallied in support of a plan
That was soon swept aside, tiny minds, tiny hands
And still we can’t see
What the problem is…
What we’re trying to fix…
But the rest would be so easy if we’d just start givin’ in
Put your dreams to rest
Idealism is dead
And the rest of life of your life might just be easier to forget it
Just forget it exists
Be a forgery of existence
And the rest will be so easy if you don’t try to resist
Nothing about this is easy.
Nothing about this is easy.
Nothing about this is easy.
Nothing about this is easy.
Nothing about this is easy.
Nothing about this is easy.
I promise the rest would be so easy if we’d just start givin’ in
If we can’t see…what the problem is
If we can’t raise our voices up for good there’ll be no more than this

They Called It America
06:36
|
|||
They called it America.
It was an idea at first…it became a country long after.
It was run under the guise of a democratic process that allowed the people to have a voice, or so it seemed.
Though its people had written laws to protect their freedom of speech, it did not stop those in charge from dictating what was being heard.
At first the people of America enjoyed many freedoms.
There were years and years of prosperity and evolution, empowerment and development.
For centuries the upper class thrived as the people of lower class slowly began to understand the system that had been designed against them.
Too slowly.
By the time they’d awakened their collective consciousness, it was already much, much too late.
The frayed edges of their society were already in tatters and barely holding on by a thread; it wouldn’t take much for that connection to snap and send the country into an irreversible civil war.
After years of simulated peacefulness, the darkness within their own humanity caved in to a supreme moment of weakness and elected a dictator under the shroud of their democracy and supposed free-will.
The want for more…the need for more…the greed for more – and at whatever the cost, became the country’s sole doctrine. Emotions, basic needs and human-rights were discarded for economics, the stock market and big money corporations while the people in the street chanted JOBS JOBS JOBS in hopes that their president would hear them. As he passed law after law to prevent them from living a life with the same freedoms their ancestors enjoyed…they let him.
Those are the facts.
Think about that.
They LET him.
At any given time the amount of people in America could have risen up against their impending imprisonment – the numbers were on their side at all times…but they did not realize this. They were led to believe that each and every one of them were thinking different things from the other when in fact, they all wanted the same exact things, thought the same thoughts and felt the same feelings as each other – but they never knew. Before they had a chance to discover their true potential and power as a connected people, their president cast them into a bitter divide and senseless rivalry that would eventually accomplish nothing but the complete and utter destruction of what they once knew.
The people became incensed for all the wrong reasons…and rather than come together for a common good, they clashed with the intention to destroy each other and let one half rule for all.
They called it America. Ha.
While they were so focused on the potential threats from the outside of their country, it was the enemy within that was rotting them right through to the core. Slowly America was drained of its knowledge, its ambition, its will to resist…and the people were led into a state unlike any other they’d ever experienced – it left them powerless.
It was called acceptance.
The continual buzz of news and noise daily, became a battle for truth and a war on facts…information flooded the people until they could literally take no more. Their days were filled with negativity, despair, hate and fear…they experienced extreme change as the world contorted itself into something rather ugly; and they switched off.
Right when the entire planet needed them the most, the people of America just…went away.
They LET their president control them.
Think about that.
They LET him.
The educated masses believed that due process would somehow come to their rescue, but the laws as they once knew them were rendered ineffective and no longer protected the people’s rights.
There was no time for them to take up arms – the other half of the country was already over-prepared and ready for Doomsday. The country’s longstanding love-affair with firearms had tipped the scale in favor of those that should never have the ability to determine who lives and who dies…and chaos ensued.
From their towers and skyscrapers that looked out far over the land they called home, the rich watched Middle Class America tear itself apart. Piece by piece, bit by bit, the fabric of their once burgeoning society had completely unraveled and unleashed the worst in themselves. The streets were filled with violence, rage, terror and blood until all life in surburbia seemed to come to a grinding halt and the future of democracy was no longer. Once the civil war had died down and the majority of the people had been killed off, those that were left were weak and weary and easily rounded up by the military.
From there, one way or the other, they all disappeared, leaving behind only the elite. As they lit their cigars in celebration…there was finally peace.
The human spirit had been crushed.
They called it America.

Resist
07:24
|
|||
In fairness, he wasn’t ever normal…we just made him that way.
I think in many ways…if we hadn’t poked the bear…he might have stayed asleep.
But if it wasn’t this guy…it’d be another guy…or another suit’n’tie with your quote-unquote best intentions in mind.
This particular clown was wildly entertaining…now he’s just sad.
The party’s overbooked, overspent and overlooked and there are no more answers to be had.
It doesn’t take much more than a quick look around to realize that THIS…is where it all begins.
We either start to make the toughest choices we’ve yet to make in our generations or we let it all fall to shit…but make no mistake, it is up to each and every one of us; not tomorrow, but now.
While we could sit comfortably with our tv’s and our families and hopefully not notice the increasing amount of absences from our life from our rights to our emotions inside….
While we could pretend that this isn’t the start of a new regime that trades stock for sincerity and dollars for dignity…deep down you already know this has gone on long enough already.
Who will be the first to stand up?
Is it you?
Is it YOU?
Because once the first of us rise, we’ll all stand together beside each other and march forward in confident strides that know we are RIGHT to want to pursue our liberties and our freedoms as we chose them to be.
Because we are justified in our pursuit of happiness and we do NOT need to live in FEAR.
It has never been so clear…such a looming threat of history repeating itself…
There has never been a time more necessary for you to stand up for your rights and protect the people you know and love. There is no reason to be scared of a world that has been there to provide for you at every moment and opportunity you’ve had. It is time to put our hearts and minds together and remind OURSELVES exactly what, we’re capable of.
But in the efforts of clarity and keeping it real…it’s important that it be said: The 45th president of the United States of America is a fucking TWAT…and the people aren’t nearly as stupid as he wants us to believe.
We will rise above this situation and we will be stronger as a result.
Resist
Looking at you now, you look just like a king shouting things from the balcony
Mom and Dad would be proud, but they would not be allowed to take part in your company
Like Marie Antionette, you’ve got some cake on your chest,
You’re feeding egos with some and shoving down all the rest
A private view of the world that would curl all of your toes and make you weep for humanity
A tower locking away all of our brighter-days cast shadows insincerity
Like a wave of regret, you’ve put yourself in this mess,
And it’s with buyer’s remorse you bought the oval office
Now straighten up your tie you’ve got some calls to make and papers to sign
Hold them up, hold them up, hold them up, hold them up, hold them up, to make them headlines…
The future will not be decided by leaders of any kind any longer. The collective will of the people has no choice but to find a way to express itself as one…because we are all in this together.
The sooner we come to realize this, the better off we will be.
There is so much more to this world that we have yet to explore
And even more, within each other.
Within four-year’s time we will know all we need to know and if we fucked up this time we had
All of his cards have been shown, the time to act is our own; remember the power is in our hands
When we have woken inside, up in the tower he’ll hide, pitchforks and torches outside, will serve us all to remind
That you can’t darken the light inside the hearts & minds
When we stand beside ourselves
